depending on the number of members interested. Our computers do not have
Vista so will need to use your laptops.
New Business:
Computer Warranties: Keith was contacted from Dell
that our warranties will expire soon. A discussion was held on the cost
and the need to extend the warranties. We can extend it from 1 up to 4
years. It is pretty costly to do this. Peggy reported she has only
contacted Dell a couple times for help since we purchased them. It was
decided to table this for the meeting in January.
Instructor Pay: It was brought up that it may be a
very good idea to pay our instructors a small amount for each session

members present. The Secretary’s report was approved as printed. The
Treasurer’s report was not available and will be ready at the next

Old Business:
Warranties:
The Warranties for all our new computers are about up and it will be
very expensive to renew the contract. Since the computers all seem to be
running well and have not given us any problem, it was decided not
to renew the Warranties.
Paying Teachers:
It was discussed about paying the Teachers for the time they put in.
Many different suggestions were made. It was stated that no teacher had
requested this but it was just a good gesture in appreciation for the
time they donate to the Club. The motion was made and seconded to remit
the dues of the Teachers (but not the helpers). It was so voted.
New Business:
Election of Officers:
The Election of officers will be held on Feb. 4. The offices of
President and Secretary are up for vote this year. If you are interested
in either of these jobs please notify Arvella 2765 or Don Zimmermann,
who is head of the Nominating Committee.
Amending the By-Laws:
According to our By-Laws “officers may be elected for two consecutive
terms in the same position.” However, if no one is interested in filling
an office which is being voted on, and the present officer is willing to
continue, this is not allowed according to our present By-laws. It was
moved that the word TWO be deleted. This change was held over to
be voted at our next meeting.
MAC User’s Group:
Arvella has been contacted by about 10 residents who have MAC computers
interested in forming a group to help one another. Arvella asked the
group for permission to get together once a week in the computer room
for this purpose. It was stated that as long as everyone is a member and
there is a Monitor present, they should be able to do this. Arvella will
contact everyone to see if Monday nights is available to everyone.

on the Bulletin Board by the mailboxes. The Classes include Word
Processing, Beginner Printmaster, Windows XP, Quicken, Excel, Camera
