The meeting was
called to order by our President, Arvella, at 9:30 A.M with 85
members present. Arvella welcomed the new members and explained how
the Club works. The January 4th Minutes were approved as printed.
The Treasurer reported $4,710.73 in the checking account.
OLD BUSINESS:
1.
Donation to the Park: Peggy Richardson was asked to speak. Many
suggestions have been suggested such as: Restoration of the carved
Ball Room doors, new Patio Tables, money toward Exercise Room
equipment, more comfortable chairs for the Ball room or money toward
a Chair Lift or elevator replacement (whichever the Board decides)
in our building. After a discussion, it was decided to vote on this
at our next stated meeting.
2 Election: The election for
Vice President and Treasurer will be held on Feb. 1. If you would
like to fill either of these positions, call Ted Linderman 2884 or
Arvella 2765.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Casino Bus trip to Payson:
Cricket said there was only 4 open seats left. If you have a Casino
Card make sure you contact Cricket 2179 so she can call the number
in.
2. CLUB PHOTO FOR DIRECTORY: We
will have the Club's photo taken on Wed., Feb. 15th at 9:30 A.M. in
the Ball Room. We will meet in the Ball Room.
3. Mack Users: Bill Hoffman is
back in the Park. If you are interested in forming a Mack group or
have problems, call him at 2510.
4. Monitors: If you offered to
monitor on Open Night, there will be a meeting tonight (Jan. 18) at
6:30 P.M. for instruction.
5 Knowledgeable Computer
Tech Needed: Peggy Richardson is our Tech and Bob Wagenvoort helps
in the Fall when here, however, Peggy is on the Park Board
and is very busy at times. If you could help her out,
when needed, please contact her 1816.
6. Excel Teacher: We are
looking for someone to teach Excel.
7. Country Store Helpers: Chuck
Hillen thanked those who helped last week
CLASSES:
Elaine welcomed the new members and explained the
Club's agenda and system. Don't forget to look at the Bulletin Board
or Web site gvrv.us to get the Classes and dates. If you can't make
a class, please call the instructor on your slip to let them know. A
Class for New Beginners will be held in February Watch for the date!
The meeting adjourned at 9:55
A.M. after which Paul Schmeil led a very interesting and informative
talk on the differences of IPad, Kindle & Nook (E-Readers &
Tablets). Several members brought theirs in and explained what they
could and could not do.
We will have Dr. Kate as our
speaker next week, Wed., Jan. 25, 2012.

January 4, 2012
The first meeting of the year 2012
was called to order by our President, Arvella, at 9:30 A.M. with 54
members present. The minutes of the Dec. 14, 2011 meeting were
approved as printed. Our Treasurer, Lori, gave her report and said
we had $3,266.24 in the checking account.
New Business:
1. Donation to Park. In the past we have
donated the money earned from the Casino Bus Trip to a needed
project in the Park. Arvella suggested we discuss where we would
like this money to go. Some suggestions were made such as the
Exercise Room, the restoration project of the Main Building carved
doors, etc. Peggy volunteered to look into other choices and we will
discuss this at a future meeting. Do you have any suggestions?
2. Election. In February we will be voting on
the Vice President and Treasurer's positions. If you would like to
fill either of these, please let Arvella or someone on the Board
know.
Announcements:
1. Casino Bus Trip to Payson. The trip will be
made on Monday, Jan. 30. Tickets are available and the Sign up sheet
is in the mail hallway. Cricket spoke about the Payson card and she,
also, said to make sure you bring 2 ID's with you in case you win.
2. Club Photo for Directory. This will be Wed.,
Feb. 15 at 9:30 A.M. in the Ballroom.
3. Country Store. This is next Wednesday and
Chuck Hillen NEEDS HELPERS. If you would like to learn to take
orders, please let Arvella 2765 or Chuck 2874 know.
4 Monitors for Open Nights (Monday, Wednesday.
& Thursday) are needed. Can you volunteer to come up one of these
evenings?
5. Recycling. We are looking for someone to put
out the recycling material each week
6. Gary Stanley's articles. Arvella asked how
many read Gary Stanley's articles. This week it was about Face Book.

7. Virus Alert. Ted Linderman wants us to know
about a new virus alert. American Airlines ticket reservation and
UPS to pick up your package. Both contain virus so DON'T OPEN.
8. Library Computer Classes. The Apache
Junction Library is offering computer classes.

Classes:
Elaine spoke about the upcoming classes. Check
them out on our Bulletin board and the gvrv.us web site. Note:
For the new computer users, a class will be held Tues., Jan. 17 &
Thurs., Jan. 19. You must be a member to take a class.

December 7, 2011
The meeting was called to order by
our President, Arvella, at 9:30 A.M. with 49 members present. The
minutes of Nov. 16 were approved as printed. The Treasurer, Lori,
reported $2,467.24 in the checking account after expenses.
Old Business:
Arvella thanked Bob Wagenvoort for installing the
ceiling mounted projectors in the Computer Lab Room and our Meeting
Room. She, also, mentioned the new desk layout. Bob will be going
home soon and shall be missed. He has spent many, many hours working
with all the computers and equipment.
New Business:
1. The Club Photo for the Park Directory will be
taken Wed., Feb. 15 before the meeting.
2. A Thank You from the Christian Women's Board
was read. The Club thanked Elaine for doing such a nice job on these
posters.
3. Computer Club T-Shirts will be on sale in
January.

Classes:
Elaine went over all the upcoming classes. They are

NO MEETINGS DECEMBER 21 OR DECEMBER 28
November 16, 2011
The first Computer Club meeting of
the season was called to order at 9;30 a.m. by our President,
Arvella, with 63 members present. The Minutes of the March 16
meeting were approved as printed. The Treasurer reported what was
earned as Ads during the summer and said we now have a balance,
after expenses, of $3,973.68 in the checking account.
There was no OLD BUSINESS.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Angel Tree Donation: It
was voted to donate $100.00 to the Angel Tree.
2. Proposed Ceiling Mounted
Projector: Bob Wagenvoort spoke about installing a ceiling
mounted projector in the Computer Room. He volunteered to do the
labor (except for the electrical) for free. The cost should be under
$2,000. He said that an overhead projector in the meeting room was.
also, being discussed but will be on hold this winter. The motion
was made in the amount of $2,000 for this project and was so voted.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Casino Bus to Payson:
The Computer Club will be hosting the bus on Mon., Jan. 30, 2012.
There will be a signup sheet in the mail hall.
2. Housekeepers: The same
housekeepers as last year have volunteered to clean the Computer
room. A "Big Thank You" to them.
3. Greeter: Laureen Larson,
our Greeter, is ill and won't be able to come down this year. We
wish Laureen a speedy recovery. Jennifer and Marge have volunteered
to greet this year.

Elaine spoke on the upcoming classes. She
emphasized that this year each member bring a jump stick to class to
save their information on. The following Classes are scheduled with

classes.
