Manager's Report

June 2006

Hello from Arizona.  We have only 67 spaces occupied.  This is about normal for this hot time of year.  Regardless of the temperatures which have been in excess of 100 degrees for a few weeks now, we are busy getting a lot of work done.

When I left you with the May report we had completed painting the Computer Room and the Game Room.  We now have all the painting upstairs in all four rooms completed. It looks awesome!  The roof has been repaired over the sewing room, the ceiling repaired and the entire room painted.  Our sewing ladies are going to be very pleased with the result.

The blinds for the windows in all three rooms have arrived and are hung.  The windows on the doors and have accordion pleated blinds and the other windows have verticals.  The colors are perfect.  I can't say enough about the Interior Design Team's good taste.

Just this week the cabinets arrived and are being installed as I write this.  They too are the perfect color.  Now, we only need the carpet to complete the effect.  Our next project will be the Navajo Room, the Small Card Room and finally the Billiards room.  Just think, it will all be done when you all get back.  (I hope!)

I am happy to report that Wanda has returned from her vacation.  They had a great time and took lots of great pictures.  This month we have Dave Hopps gone on his vacation to Washington state.  He will be back the middle of July.  His handy assistant, Jim, is doing the landscaping solo for three weeks.  Kris is also gone for her vacation.  She is fishing.

Our weather has been hot and humid for the past few days.  We are expecting some rain, hoping for some rain from monsoon action.  Maybe we should learn to do a rain dance.

The salt water pool has been a great success so far.  No one has reported getting a rash or having any problems at all.  I think it was a good move.

This month we emptied the big pool, cleaned the tile and put new water in.  The water came in with a lot of dirt in it, but cleared up in a couple of days.  It is now sparkling clear and clean.  Pinal County recommends changing water every two years, so we are complying.

As most of you know, Dave and Arlene Mitchell have retired.  We welcome our new realtors Susan Perlow and her sister Linda Irwin.  They will be an excellent addition to the resort.   This week we moved the real estate office to the space occupied by the ARC office which is much larger than the one we have used in the past for real estate.  It means more rent for the resort at no additional cost.  The ARC office is only open for six hours a week and they will be able to work out of the smaller office with no problem.

Bye for now.  Have a good summer!!!
